The Bakewell and District Historical Society holds its monthly talks and AGMs at the Friends’ Meeting House. The Society operates the Bakewell Old House Museum, which tells the story of the inhabitants of the house – from Tudor times to Arkwright’s Mill workers and the Victorian tenants. There are changing displays on the history of Bakewell and this part of the Peak District.
